Struck by falling object

An employee was struck by a slab of rock that measured approximately 8 inches to 12 inches thick by 50 to 70 inches wide by 74 inches long. The roof fall occurred at the 34 Main between crosscut 1 North 4 and 1 North 5.

Fall to the walkway or working surface

Two workers were putting together 6"" diameter yelomine pip. EE got his foot stuck in a strap, which caused him to trip, twist and fall on the ground. The resulting injury was a broken fibula in ee right leg.

EE was checking the sight pole for an excavator operator. Some of the stone below his feet gave way and he fell into the ditch. He continued to work the rest of the day saying he was fine. He decided to go to the doctor on 4/22/2011. EE is part-time and any time off was not related to this injury.
