EMPL JUMP STARTED THE EL300 BACKHOE WITH THE D9 CATEPILLAR DOZER HE IMPROPERLY HOOKED UP THE JUMPER CABLES TO THE HOE BATTERIES SO THAT 24 BOLTS WAS GOING INOT THE 12 VOLT BATTERYS OF THE HOE THE HOE STARTED HE WENT TO UNHOOK CABLES WHEN THE BATTERY EXPLODED EMPL RECEIVED MINOR ACID BURNS AND LACERTION CUT ON CHIN REQUIRED THREE STICHES EMPL RETURNED TO WORK THE SAME DAY

THE MINE ELECTRICIAN WAS CALLED TO THE MINE TO TROUBLESHOOT AN ELTRICAL PROBLEM. HE WAS IN A HURRY AND WAS CHECKING THE VOLTS IN AN ELECTRICAL PANEL IN THE POWER HOUSE. THE EMPLOYEE HAD THE SET ON OHMS INSTEAD OF VOLTS. THE RESULT WAS A DEAD SHORT ACROSS TWO LEGS CAUSING THE METER TO DESTRUCT, BURNING THE EMPLOYEE'S LEFT HAND ( SECOND DEGREE BURN) BURNED PORTION OF HAND HEALING,
