Employee was attempting to pull cable off the roofbolter that was fouled up; when he touched the cable and the frame of the roofbolter he recieved an electrical shock to his upper body. He was taken to the hospital and kept overnight for observation.

Showing all 8Employee was unplugging scoop battery bell when cable arched. He turned to leave the area (a normal movement) and twisted his knee. He finished his shift with no complaints, and came outside. Due to a reconstructive knee surgery from a earlier injury, he requested a report be filled out for precautionary measures.
Member was helping re-enter hi=line cable into the #5 belt head kva. member was holding the lead out of the way for the electrician. A malfunction in the #1 box allowed that particular lead to become energized, causing the member to receive a shock.
Member noticed that his pants were wet and his cap light battery was leaking. Member received 2nd degree chemical burn but continued to work until 10/6/05.
EE RECEIVED SHOCK AFTER UNHOOKING A THUMPER FROM FINDING A GROUND IN MINER CABLE. HE SAID HE FLIPPED TOGGLE SWITCH OFF, DEPRESSED ACTIVATOR WHEN HE FELT A SHOCK. HE WAS TAKEN TO HOSPITAL WHERE SEVERAL TEST WERE PERFORMED. UPON INVESTIGATION THE THUMPER KNOB WAS FOUND ON HIGH. THIS REPORT IS FILED DUE TO AN MSHA VIOLATION. MANAGEMENT BELIEVES A MEDICAL CONDITION KEPT EE FROM WORK.
EE REMOVED THE RIGHT RIB CATHEAD FROM THE SECTION POWER CENTER LOADING TO FIND A GROUND ON THE CABLE HE WENT TO RIB WHERE REFUND THE GROUND. AS HE WAS LEAVING HE SLIPPED AND FELL CATCHING HIMS ELF WITH LEFT HAND AGAINST RIB RECEIVING A SHOCKFROM THE TESTED TRANSPORTED TO LOGAR GROUND FOR OBSERVATION EKG NO ABNORMALITIES.
MEMBER WAS IN THE PROCESS OF MAKING A BELT AND POWER MOVE ON THE 001 SECTION. HE WAS STANDING IN THE BELT ENTRY BY #2 SHUTTLE CAR, HE PICKED THE CABLE UP AND DROPPED IT AGAINST THE RIB. THE CA BLE BOUNCED BACK ON TOP OF HIS RIGHT BOOT CAUSING HIM TO RECEIVE ELECTRIC SHOCK. MEMBER WASWEARING LEATHER METATARSAL BOOTS WHICH WERE WET. HE WAS TRANSPORTED TO HOSPITAL.
MEMBER WAS WALKING BY #3 S/C WHEN THE ELECTRICIAN TRIED TO PUT THE BREAKER IN. THE S/C HAD A GROUNDED CABLE AND THE MEMBER HAD HIS HAND ON THE S/C. HE WAS GIVEN AN INITIAL SHOCK. HE WAS TAKEN TO HOSPITAL FOR OBSERVATION & RELEASED. HE RETURNED TO WORK THE NEXT DAY.
