The rib roll struck the operator against his left side of his back causing lacerations. (Entry Width 17'11") (Rib Roll 8" thick - 15" wide - 20" long) (Hole being Drilled 26" from the rib)

EE WAS TROUBLSHOOTING THE #3 SHUTTLE CAR WHICH HAD LOST ELECTRICAL POWER BEHIND THE CONTINUOUS MINER IN #6 ENTRY. EE WAS FACING THE SHUTTLE CAR WITH HIS BACK TOWARD THE RIB BEHIND THE REPAIRMAN "WORKING" AND TRIED TO GIVE A VERBAL WARNING. THE UPPER HALF OF RIB COLLAPSED AND FELL, KNOCKING HIM ON HIS LOWER BACK AND STRIKING HIS RIGHT FOOT.
