The EE was servicing the roof bolting machine. He was positioned on the left side of the machine, when a piece of coal rolled from the rib and struck him on his lower back. This resulted in a bruise to his lower back area.

The employee was positioned behind the continuous mineing machine, which he was operating by remote controls, when the coal rib rolled and a piece struck his left foot.

THE INJURED WAS OPERATING A REMOTE CONTROLLED CONTINUOUS MINING MACHINE. HE HAD MINED THE RIGHT SIDE OF THE FACE AND WAS STEPPING THE MACHINE OVER TO MINE THE LEFT SIDE. AS HE WAS MOVING THE MACHINE, A PIECE OF DRAW ROCK FELL (BETWEEN THE RIB AND RIB BOLTS) STRIKING HIS LEFT LEG.
