Employee was installing a rib bolt on the right side of the CM when a piece of head coal fell out and struck the employee in right forearm. The employee suffered a laceration that required two sutures and is receiving PT for a contusion. This is a Medical Treatment accident.
Employee reported being struck by some roof coal. Six weeks later EE began complaining of neck pain. An MRI was done and revealed no acute injuries but did show chronic conditions due to three fused discs, metal plates and screws in the neck. EE was taken off work on 1/12/2017. This is being reported as an Occupational Illness.
