Showing all 46Employee was dragging a curtain to the face of the #3 entry when a rock fell out between the bolts striking him on his left knee. Employee continued to work until 10-15-2012 when he went off to have a torn meniscus repaired.
Employee was bending over when a rock fell out of the roof striking him on the back and spine. Employee walked to the dinner hole and felt faint. After this he was taken to Deaconess Hospital where he was kept overnight for observation and released the next day to go home.
Employee was observing roof bolting on the Main North Travel road @ x-cut #59. As the bolter was drilling a hole, the injured employee was squatted down with one hand on the mine floor watching the bolter drill, a rock measuring about 2.5" x 17" x 24" fell out of the roof striking her left hand causing a fracture in it. The employee was taken to Harrisburg Medical Center where he was diagnosed with a fracture to his right forearm.

INJURED STATED THAT HE WAS PUTTING A SPAD IN THE ROOF WHEN A PIECE OF DRAW ROCK FELL AND STRUCK INJURED ON THE BACK OF THE RIGHT HAND CAUSING A LACERATION. INJURED WENT TO THE HOSPITAL AND REC EIVED 5 STITCHES. HE RETURNED TO WORK HIS NEXT REGULAR SCHEDULED SHIFT.
