The operator was holding the tail line in place while being cut from the dredge. While holding the line, the line was cut, the line jerked pulling the operator's right shoulder out of socket.

The employee was engaging a clutch on the dredge and a bolt backed out of the Dodge coupling ripping the guard off. The guard struck the employee in the bottom lip causing a laceration. The cut required 5 stitches on the outside and 4 on the inside of his lip. A new guard was built that is larger eliminating the possibility of a bolt catching the guard.
