Showing all 24The employee was flipping the lid of a grid box when they felt a sharp pain in upper left arm. They requested help from company EMTs and was then transported to hospital. The hospital released them that night and advised them to follow up with Primary Physician and placed them off work until 4/4/2026. The employees Primary put them off work until they are cleared from Orthopedic.
Employee went to move welder cable in tool sled. Picked up a wad of cable as they stood to throw it out of the way had pain in lower back then in left groin.
Employee was working on a rock truck when a cordless drill fell from the top of the engine and landed on EE's right hand causing a fracture to the end of EE's finger. EE went to the ER and had a splint placed on EE's injured finger.
Employee picked up a piece of metal and stated EE felt something pop in their left shoulder. The Employee continued to work, and said it was ok. On 1/24/2025 EE informed the foreman that EE had scheduled a surgery for their shoulder for 1/28/2025.
Employee picked up a bucket of miner bits. When EE turned, felt a sharp pain in the lower back. Employee said it was an old injury from a previous employer.
Employee was installing Roof Bolts, while trying to insert drill steel in drill chuck EE felt something pull and a burning sensation in shoulder
Employee was rolling up the grease line when EE lost control of the hose, the handle caught EE's hand and caused a strained tendon.
Employee was conducting a pre-operational exam of EE's truck. EE raised the hood and felt a sharp pain in EE's back. EE continued to work for a few hours and then went to the hospital. EE was treated for a strain and given a couple days off to rest.

Employee was replacing a starter on a Rock Truck. The employee stated it was a hard area to access. When EE lifted the starter, EE felt something in their back. The employee did not report until 11/28/2022 and did not go to the Doctor until 12/5/2022. EE has a pinched nerve in their back.
The Employee was trying to straighten a pie pan, began pulling it against their chest when they felt something pull in their right shoulder.
TRESSPASSER ON PROPERTY. GUARD WAS STANDING AT BACK OF THE VEHICLE WAITING FOR TRESSPASSER TO STOP. THE TRESSPASSER HIT THE GUARD PINNING EE BETWEEN VEHICLES CAUSING GUARD TO HAVE HIP PAIN.
Employee was lifting a boring bar and trying to slide it in the bearing. As they were lifting and pulling they felt a sharp pain in the groin area. EE was transported to the hospital where they were diagnosed with a hernia. The boring bar weighs approximately 75lbs. EE returned to work the next day and hasn't missed any work yet. Restricted to no lifting over 15 lbs.
Oiler was changing dust filters on highwall drill HD29. Due to the filters being wet they were heavier than normal. While changing the third filter EE's left hand was under the filter and when the filter dropped it was too heavy to hold and caught EE's hand between the dust box and filter. EE suffered a broken left pinkie finger with lacerations.
Employee was cleaning out the floor of a 993K Caterpillar Front End Loader. EE hit something sharp in the floor behind a steering control hose and cut EE's middle finger. EE was taken to the ER and glue was applied to the cut. EE returned to work the same evening.
Changing conveyer belt on rock crusher, one mechanic manually rolls the counterbalance wheel, as the belt was being rolled the injured technician failed to remove a hand and sustained a laceration to the 3rd finger on right hand.
Employee was attempting to connect a man-basket to a crane. When employee turned a screw type lever that adjusts the basket the arm fell on employee's left hand breaking the ring finger.
Mechanic used a chain as a puller to replace center bushings and chain broke and hit mechanic in the mouth. The lip was split open and employee was taken to hospital where it was sewn back up. Mechanic tried to come back to work the next scheduled work day but was advised to take a few days off with pay to let it start healing.
Employee was picking up a track pad and felt a pull in EE's left groin area. EE didn't go to the Dr until 3/4/2020 and was diagnosed with a hernia. EE didn't receive any treatment and has not missed any days of work.
