EE STATED THAT SHE HAD PICKED UP A DRILL BIT THAT WAS STILL IN THE BOX AND INJURED HER LEFT THUMB WHEN THE BIT SLIPPED AND BENT HER THUMB BACK. EE DID NOT REPORT THE INJURY UNTIL IT BEGAN TO S WELL AND BECAME STIFF AND SORE ON 10/18/96. THE INJURY WAS DIAGNOSED AS A BONE CHIP AND THE HANDWAS IMMOBILIZED IN A SPLINT AND CAST.
