Showing all 3Mechanic was sliding a corner bit for a D-10 dozer from a pallet onto the back of a service truck. As the corner bit slid off the pallet it rotated slightly and when it slid off the pallet it caught the mechanic's little finger on his left hand against a vise mounted on the rear of the service truck, breaking the finger just below the top knuckle.
A mechanic had pulled a truck differential from storage using a forklift and a chain. When he reached to remove the chain hook from the differential it rolled slightly, pinching his left ring finger against the floor. This resulted in a cut that required 4 stitches to close.
