While roof bolting in 3L, employee was hitting a clogged drill steel when EE felt pain in EE's right shoulder blade. EE continued to work until EE was taken off work later in November.
Employee changing out link on conveyor chain in Unit 4, Entry 10. While driving link back together a small piece of metal chipped off and imbedded in upper thigh. It was removed and stitched closed.
Employee was in the surface shop working on a piece of equipment. EE was on EE's knees driving a pin out with a sledge hammer. EE was swinging to hit the pin and missed the pin becoming off balanced falling on EE's right shoulder and arm. Incident occurred on 08/29/22 EE worked until 09/27/22 when EE was taken off work for medical treatment.
Employee was involved with the removal of an articulation jack on a machine. Employee was holding the the pin removal hammer while another employee was hitting it with a sledge hammer. The sledge hammer glanced off the pin hammer striking employee's finger, resulting in a fracture to that finger.
Employee was using a pry bar to remove a rock off the continuous miner when employee felt pain in right elbow. Employee continued to work until 04/05/2022 when employee's doctor took employee off work for surgical treatment of the elbow.
Employee was replacing cutting bits on the head of the continuous miner. EE went to hit on the bit removal tool with a hammer and missed hitting EE's right pinky finger. This resulted in a crushing injury to that finger requiring a surgical procedure.
Employee was changing out worn miner bits and was using a hammer and a chisel in this process. When hitting the chisel a sliver of metal came off and imbedded in EE's left forearm. EE continued to work until 10/06/2021 when EE had it removed and received 3 stitches.
Employee was beating out a plugged drill steel and accidently hit EE's left index finger.
The employee received a laceration while repairing a damaged miner cable.
The employee was hitting EE's roof bolt drill steels with a wrench when the wrench bounced off the drill steels hitting the employee in the mouth chipping a tooth.
The employee was knocking a hole into a stopping for a belt regular when the employee hit their finger causing EE to receive sutures.
The employee was hooking up a rope to a piece of rock to pull it off the miner at that time the employee got their finger caught between the rope and the ram car clevis.
The employee was changing the tire on a roofbolter and while breaking the lug nuts on the tire the employee felt pain in their abdomen. The employee was diagnosed with having a Hernia. The employee is continuing to work at this time.
While changing the screens in the rotary breaker a come-a-long slipped and smashed the employees finger.
The employee was working on the miner foot shaft and while hammering the shaft a piece of metal broke off and hit another employee with a small piece of metal in the chest.
The employee was making a splice on a miner cable and was cut by the knife they were using in penciling the ends of the cable. This employee received 3 stitches.
The employee was breaking up coal with a pry bar and felt pain in the lower back.
The employee was prying on a roof bolter material pod when the employee felt some pain in shoulder. The employee continued to work until going out for surgery on 9/27/2017.
The employee hit his thumb with a hammer while taking out a broken bit out of the miner head.
The employee pinched their left inner thigh while using a chain binder to bind down some belt steel on a tram.
The employee was standing near the miner while they were changing a broken miner bit when a piece of metal from the miner bit hit the employee in the right cheek.
While using a come-a-long to get a drill steel out of a hole the steel came loose causing the belt roller to come out of bracket hitting employee in the neck.(note) This accident occurred on 5-19-15 the employee continued to work his regular job until 9-8-15.
The employee was using a hammer to tighten the plug on the ram car battery when she hit finger fractured her finger.
While swinging a sledge hammer the employee caught their index finger between the hammer and some metal.
The employee was using a knife to remove the Kevlar sleeving material from the steering hoses on a mantrip when he cut his left palm. The employee received a cut that required 8 sutures.
Employee was using a pry bar to remove a rock from the top of the continuous miner and strained his knee.
Employee was cutting bands on a pallet of blocks and cut his middle and small fingers on his right hand. He required 2 sutures in both fingers(total of 4 sutures).
Laborer was cutting a piece of guarding for high voltage, when his knife slipped and cut his left knuckle.
Employee cut left thumb with knife while trimming ceiling tile. He received (4) stitches.
