Employee was tightening drive belts on crusher using a 3/4ton come-along connected to a 1"x4'nylon strap rated for 6,400lbs. Strap showed no wear prior to use. The strap broke in the middle causing the come-along to go towards the employee and hit right hand. Ice was applied and employee was taken to a medical clinic. X-rays showed that the right thumb was broken.
