The injured employee was attempting to remove an O-ring seal while repairing a jackleg. The pick that the employee was using to remove the O-ring slipped and punctured the thumb on the employees gloved Left hand. The puncture became infected, incisions were made in the thumb in order to clean the wound, the employee also has been receiving IV antibiotics.
