On the night of 12/09/2020 the crew and I were getting dayshift set up for their stacker move in the morning. At 0300 A.M I was swinging the dead blow to remove a power cable when I'm in the middle of my fourth swing I felt my middle back tense up and my knees buckled unable to fully stand back up. I proceeded to finish the shift.
Employee was cutting geosynthetic material toward the body and blade cut through glove into left hand. Our customer's site safety coordinator took employee to the closest medical facility for evaluation. Laceration determined first aid. Proper cutting techniques were covered during orientation and safety training (OSHA 10) and were not followed in this situation.
