THE EMPLOYEE WAS SETTING A VERTICAL SADDEL PIPE UNDER THE 8" WATER PIPE. THE HOOK UP WAS MADE APPROX 20' FROM THE CONNECTION. THE WELD ONT HE LONG PIPE BROKE BY THE HOOK UP POIKNT CAUSING TH E CONNECTION END TO DROP ON THE SADDLE PIPE OF WHICH THE EMPLOYEE HAD HIS LEFT THUMB. THE PIPE WAS APPROX 3' OFF THE GROUND THE LENGTH OF ADJONING PIPE WAS APPROX 800' LONG.
