EMPLOYEE USED A BALL PEEN HAMMER TO DRIVE OFF A RIPPER TOOTH ON A CAT D-9. THE HAMMER CHIPPED OFF A PIECE OF METAL WHICH PUNCTURED EMPLOYEE'S RIGHT KNEE. METAL FRAGMENT COULD NOT BE REMOVED BY PROBING. EMPLOYEE IS AWAITING APPOINTMENT WITH SPECIALIST TO REMOVE FRAGMENT SURGICALLY. MEANTIME EMPLOYEE CONTINUES TO WORK.
