68935 REMOVING THE BUCKET PIN ON A POCLAIN 400 BACKHOE INJURED WAS HOLDING THE SHAFT SECURE WHILE ANOTHER EMPLOYEE WAS HITTING THE PIN WITH A SLEDGE HAMMER TO REMOVE IT.A SMALL PIECE OF METAL 29625 OFF THE SHAFT AND BECAME IMBEDDED IN HIS THIGH ABOUT 8" ABOVE THE KNEE.HE WAS ABLE TO REMOVE THE PIECE OF METAL HIMSELF.

WHEN INSERTING TRACK PIN AND BUSHING IN BACKHOE, THE PIN BROKE AND A CHIP FLEW OFF IMBEDDING ITSELF IN RIGHT SIDE OF HIP. REQUIRED X-RAY AND SURGICAL ATTEMPT TO REMOVE STEEL CHIP (UNSUCCESSFUL ) SUTURES REQUIRED.
