EE WAS WORKING IN THE SHOP ATTEMPTING TO SEPARATE A COUPLER FOR #59 LOCOMOTIVE WITH A HAMMER AND A CHISEL. NORMALLY THIS COUPLER SEPARATES QUITE EASILY, HOWEVER, HE HAD NOT REMOVED ALL OF THE BOLTS HOLDING IT TOGETHER. HE FIRST DROVE THE CHISEL INTO THE COUPLER WITHOUT SUCCESS, THEN HE PRIED ON IT, AND AS HE MOVED AROUND THE COUPLER CHISEL, UNDER PRESSURE SHOT OUT AND HIT HIM IN TH
