EE stated that he was using a hammer to break the keeper pin on a miner bit when he missed and struck his left index finger. The results were his finger was dislocated and a laceration requiring 5 stitches. EE stated that his light cord may have deflected the hammer. EE returned to work on the next scheduled shift with modified or restricted duty.
EE was cutting conduit to repair a light on the shuttle, when the utility knife that he was using slipped and cut his left index finger, requiring 3 stitches.
EE was in the process of hanging the conveyor belts system by using a chain ratchet. He was driving the hook of the ratchet under a roof bolt plate when he struck his left index finger. He was examined at Middlesboro Hospital where it was determined that he had fractured the tip of the finger. He returned to work that day and did not miss any time
Employee was assisting in removing the drums from the continuous miner when the bar they were using in the railroad jack slipped causing injured to fall backward. He was transported to the hospital with a broken knee cap and miniscus. Employee had surgery on 11-26-08 and is a lost time injury.
The flat car had derailed and EE was jacking the flat car back onto the track, when the jack slipped and pinched his left 5th finger between the jack and a header board. EE received 7 stitches and returned to work.
EE was using a lifting jack to put a rail runner back on the track when the jack kreeled out and the bar that he was using as a lever struck him above the left eye. He recieved 5 stitches and returned to work on 03/04/08.
EE WAS OPERATING THE RAIL RUNNER, WHEN A SHOVEL THAT HE HAD PLACED ON THE TOP OF THE RAIL RUNNER CAME INTO CONTACT WITH A SPILL BOARD AT A CONVEYOR BELT, CAUSING THE SHOVEL TO STRIKE HIM IN THE BACK OF THE HEAD. EE RECIEVED 5 STITCHES AND RETURNED TO WORK ON THE NEXT SCHEDULED SHIFT.
EE WAS CUTTING BELT WITH A UTILITY KNIFE, WHEN HE CUT HIS LEFT THIGH. HE WAS TRANSPORTED TO THE HOSPITAL WHERE RECIEVED 5 STITCHES TO HIS LEG. HE CONTINUED TO WORK AND IS NOT A LOST TIME ACCIDENT.
Employee was using a utility knife to cut the conveyor belt when the knife slipped and cut his right leg. He consulted the doctor and received 2 stitches. He did not lose any time from work.
As employee was operating a chain ratchet to change a tailpiece bearing, the ratchet slipped striking his right hand resulting in a broken bone.

EE WAS JACKING UP A ROOF BOLTER WHEN THE BAR SLIPPED CAUSING EE TO FALL FOREWARD STRIKING HIS JAW AGAINST THE ROOF BOLTER. HE SUFFERED A BROKEN TOOTH WHICH REQUIRED A FILLING.
A EE WAS USING A PRY BAR TO MOVE A PIECE OF ROCK OFF THE TRACK, HE STRAINED HIS LOWER BACK.
ANOTHER EE WAS USING A HAMMER TO SPLICE A BELT WHEN A PIECE OF THE HAMMER CAME OFF AND STRUCK EE IN THE RIGHT FOREARM.
HE WAS CUTTING A CAR CABLE TO SPLICE IT. HE HADTHE CABLE ON A HEADER PULLING THE KNIFE TOWARDS HIMSELF, WHEN HE CUT HIS LEFT LEG ABOVE KNEECAP.THE KNIFE CUT THROUGH HIS KNEE PADS.
EMPLOYEE WAS KNOCKING WATER LINE APART WITH A 16 LB HAMMER. THE HAMMER GLANCED OFF THE WATER LINE STRIKING HIM IN THE LEFT SHIN.
