During a mine explosion employee was injured and taken to Raleigh General Hospital for evaluation.

The EE was assisting the driller with the removal of rods (drill steel) from the borehole. There was an ignition of methane (gas). The EE received 1st degree burns to his left arm, face and neck. The EE also received a 2nd degree burn on his left arm.
