Employee was removing a piece of angle from a wall. In the last cut the angle pinched the blade. When it kicked back, a piece of the wheel broke off lacerating EE's left bicep. Employee exited the job area and notified the tool crib attendant. Emergency procedures were initiated.

OPERATOR WAS BEGINNING TO OPEN A DITCH WITH BACKHOE. HAD DOOR OPEN ON BACKHOE. MUD HIT HIM ON THE FOREHEAD. AS OPERATOR WAS RUBBING MUD OFF FOREHEAD SOME OF THE MUD WENT INTO HIS RIGHT EYE. HE FLUSHED HIS EYE AT THIS POINT. IN ABOUT A HOUR,HE SHUT JOB DOWN AND WENT TO GUARD HOUSE WHERE HE FLUSHED HIS EYE AGAIN. DISCOMFORT CONTINUED. AT THIS TIME HE SOUGHT MEDICAL ATTENTION.
