Showing all 6While drilling a 6' hole, he drilled the top steel in the roof and reached for the bottom steel, the top steel slipped out of the hole striking in on the middle finger.
He was installing 16' cable bolts, 4 sections of drill steels being used. 3 sections had been removed from hole, and the top section fell from hole, striking his left hand (finger) between the steel & the drill pot.
Two Employees were using Jack-leg drill. The drill detached from the chuck, and EE moved drill from contacting his fellow employee. His finger was pinched between drill and rock surface.
Employee turned off air valve on the mucker & climbed on top to untangle pump hose. The cable must of hit the lever and caused the bucket to hit his thigh.
The employee was using an air powered hammer drill. The employee's finger was pinched between the body of the hammer drill and the drill stem. As a result, fluid pressure built up under the finger nail of the employee's finger. The pressure was released by drilling the finger nail.
