THE TYPE OF LOOSE SLATE THAT WAS BEING HELD BY THE MAT AND THE FACT THAT THE GROUND HAD LOOSENED UP BEHIND THE MAT, CAUSING ROCK MATERIAL TO BREAK LOOSE AND FALL. THE SHIFT PRIOR HAD BLASTED I NT HE SAME HEADING, PROBABLY CAUSING VIBRATION WHICH LOOSENED THE ROCK MATERIAL.
