While operating a jackleg to install bolts, a miner felt a pop in his right knee. The work deck was level and clear of obstructions and tripping hazards. Primary contributing factor is recurrent injury to knee from other non-work related accidents.

Showing all 8The driller was operating a wire line core drill to retrieve a stuck core barrel. He tensioned the cable to free the stuck barrel when the sheave wheel dislodged from the mounting bracket and struck his right hand and the thumb joint.
The miner was using a jackleg to drill back holes in a scram drift. When he energized the leg he had his left hand on top of the machine which pinched his index finger between the machine and the roof.
