EMPLOYEE WAS OPERATING THE CRUSHING AND SCREENING PLANT. THE NORDBERG OMNICONE CRUSHER BEGAN MAKING AN UNUSUAL NOISE. A PIECE OF DRILL STEEL AND THE DRILL BIT FROM A TAMROCK ROCK DRILL HAD MAD E THEIR WAY INTO THE CONE CRUSHER. EMPLOYEE WAS INSPECTING THE CRUSHER WHEN THE STEEL AND BIT POPPED OUT AND STRUCK HIM ON THE RIGHT SIDE OF HIS FACE CAUSING CUTS, BROKEN BONES AND SWELLLING.
