Employee was cutting rock on the front splitter. A rock fell in between belt and splitter teeth. When he grabbed the rock the belt hit it and the rock turned and smashed his right thumb between rock and belt.

PER EE WORKING ON SPLITTING ROCK AT SPLITTER TABLE. WENT TO SPLIT GREY STONE A PIECE OF ROCK APPROXIMATELY 6" IN DIA NOT THICK FLEW OFF OF SPLITTER TABLE AND ROCK BEING SPLIT. IT HIT HIS SAFET Y GLASSES, AND THEN HIS FOREHEAD UNDER HARD HAT.
