Injury to employees left eye occurred when employee began to operate a hand held grinder with a wire cleaning wheel attached. The employee was injured when a piece of wire from the wire wheel came off and struck the employee in the left eye. Employee was not wearing safety glasses or a face shield while doing the task. Employee is expected to make a full recovery.
