the wire saw operator was trimming a granite block when the diamond wire snapped, hitting at the safe guard and ricochet from there with one of the beads hitting EE on the leg, EE was 39 feet away from the machine at the moment of the accident, EE was conscious at every moment and EE was transported to the nearest hospital, EE got 3 stitches

Showing all 4The injured employee was standing behind the wire saw when the saw wire broke and a piece of metal from the wire struck his hard hat, penetrated the hard hat, and hit him in the back left side of his head. The employee suffered a possible skull fracture. He was admitted to the hospital for two days for observation and is now at home recuperating.
Operator was moving a horizontal lift drill to another location in pit area when an unsecured drill steel on machine fell striking a miner in the forehead (miner was wearing hard hat) and approximately 15 ft. from suspended load.
SAW PUMP NOT PUMPING, SUCTION HOSE WAS VIBRATING. SAW WATER SPITING OUT AT CAP TOP END. TURNED OFF MOTOR THEN STARTED TO MOVE PUMP OUT OF THE WAY. CAP POPPED OFF, WATER AND MUD EVERYWHERE. I T URNED AWAY FROM PUMP AND RUSHED TO OTHER WATER, TOOK SHIRT OFF AND WASHED IT OFF MYSELF.
