Employee was operating a D-6 dozer and was backing up at a 2 to 1 slope and went to shift into forward and the transmission did not catch causing the dozer to free wheel. The operator dropped the blade and this caused EE to lunge forward and rotate from the waist hitting head on the window frame. Operator was wearing seatbelt. Operator received stitches.
