During maintenance, parts on the conveyor were replaced. The belt was started up at low idle for tension and tracking, with tail pulley unguarded. A labors arm was entangled in the smooth (none fluted) tail pulley, causing cuts, nerve damage and broken bone (s) injury. The injured labor was taken to local hospital where he was treated before being medevac'd to Seattle.
