Showing all 9Operator was panning down haul road in a scraper, another scraper coming off fill canned up and the operator was about to put cushion hook back on when he hit a hole. He pulled a muscle in his neck.
Employee was driving a Euclid CH-150 coalhauler in pit 11 F section when he hit a hole in the road jarring his back, road maintenance was ongoing at the time of the incident. On 8/11/08 employee was diagnosed with a herniated disk at L5-S1 in his lower back. Employee is unable to work till further notice.
Crossing a 12-14 inch high windrow left in the pit floor caused the truck to pitch enough to bottom out the operator's seat. Employee complained of a warm/tingling sensation in his lower back for several minutes, with an MRI revealing a lower back ruptured disk the following day. Speed estimated at 5 mph while crossing the windrow.
EE WAS OPERATING A 150 TON COAL HAULER. HE WAS WAITING AT THE CAT 5230 SHOVEL TO BE LOADED WHEN HE TOOK A DRINK. THE SHOVEL DROPPED A BUCKET LOAD OF COAL INTO THE BED OF THE TRUCK. THIS JARRED THE TRUCK ENOUGH THE EE CHIPPED HIS FRONT TOOTHON A GLASS BOTTLE.
EE HAS BEEN EXPERIENCING PAIN IN THE CERVICAL AREA WHENEVER HE OPERATES HAULAGE TRUCKS. HE WAS DIAGNOSED WITH DEGENERATE DISC DISEASE AND ARTHRITIS IN HIS NECK. A PHYSICICAN HAS RECOMMENDED TH AT EE NOT RETURN TO WORK AT THIS TIME.
EE WAS OPERATING A COAL HAULER IN PIT 16 WEST. HE WAS GOING INTO THE PIT EMPTY WHEN HE FELL ASLEEP AND LOST CONTROL. THE COAL HAULER RAN OVER A 5-8' LEDGE AND EE BOUNCED AROUND IN THE CAB, STR IKING HIS HEAD ON THE DOME LIGHT LENS. EE DID HAVE HIS SEAT BELT ON. HE RECEIVED NUMEROUS STITCHES.
EE WAS OPERATING #15 COAL HAULER WHEN HE VEERED TO THE SIDE OF THE HAULRAOD WHNE ANOTHER COAL HAULER WENT AROUND A MOTOR GRADER. HE HIT A RUT AND WINDROW OF MATERIAL AND WAS JARRED TO WHERE HE FELT SOME PAIN IN HIS NECK AND LOWER BACK. THE RUT AND WINDROW WERE LEFT WHEN A WATER TRUCK GOT STUCK AND WAS PULLED OUT BY A DOZER. HE WAS EXAMINED AT THE EMERGENCY ROOM.
EMPLOYEE SAID HE WAS OPERATING A COAL HAULER IN THE INTERIOR PIT WHEN HE HIT A ROUGH SPOT IN THE ROAD; HE WAS IN 4TH GEAR GOING 20 MPH. THIS CAUSED PAIN AND NUMBNESS IN HIS LEFT LEG; HE WAS U NABLE TO WORK HIS NEXT 3 SCHEDULED SHIFTS. HE SAW HIS DOCTOR AND IS GOING TO HAVE SURGERY ON HIS BACK.
