WHEN THE RETURN BELT BECAME OVERLOADED, HE ATTEMPTED TO HELP THE MOTOR BY PULLING ON THE DRIVE BELTS AND HIS FINGERS BECAME INSNARED IN THE DRIVE PULLY. BROKE HIS THUMB AND CUT OFF THE TIP OF HIS INDEX FINGER.
