EE & A COWORKER WERE PULLING MINER CABLE SLACK FROM THE WORKING FACE DOWN THE #3 ENTRY. THE EE INJURED WAS ATTEMPTING TO "KICK" A KNOT OUT OF THE CABLE AS HIS COWORKER WAS PULLING THE CABLE WI TH A SHUTTLE CAR. THE KNOTTED CABLE CAUGHT THE EE'S RT. FOOT CAUSING HIM TO FALL AND HURT RT. KNEE. EE LOST TIME ON 6-1-02 BECAUSE OF THIS ACCIDENT.

EE STATES ON 4-30-02 WHILE CLEANING THE COAL FEEDER WITH A SCOOP, A LOADED SHUTTLE CAR STRUCK HIS BUCKET OF THE SCOOP CAUSING THE EE TO STRIKE HIS HEAD ON THE SCOOP CANOPY. EE BEGAN MISSING TIME FROM WORK ON 5/24/02. WORK SCHEDULE IS ON A4ON 4OFF CYCLE AND THE MINE WAS IDLE FOR 8 DAYS BECAUSE OF FULL STOCK PILES AND NO SHIPMENT OF COAL.
