Employee was servicing a crusher on ground level when a off-road truck was dumping a load of limerock on top of a ramp. A large rock rolled down the hill striking the employee knocking him into a 10 foot pit which was dug under the crusher to catch the screenings. After examination and MRI, patient had torn ligaments and contusions.

EE STATES THAT EE WAS TRYING TO ROLL THE HAMMER DRUM IN THE ROCK CRUSHER WHILE REPLACING THE BELT. THE DRUM BEGAN TO ROLL PINNING LEFT ANKLE BETWEEN THE HAMMER AND THE ROCK CRUSHER HOPPER. THE EQUIPMENT HAD BEEN LOCK OUT AND TAGGED BUT EMPLOYEES WERE MOVING THE DRUM TO REPLACE THE BELTS.
