Showing all 4The employee was bolting a bracket with an impact gun on a water truck. The air from the exhaust of the impact gun disrupted some metal shavings that entered the employee's right eye. The employee was wearing eye protection at the time of the incident. The eye was flushed several times with water and he thought that it was ok.
Employee was unwinding a spool of 1" steel hoist cable with a co-worker's assistance. The cable slipped off of the side of the spool and came in contact with employee's foot just behind the steel toe portion of the boot. Foot swelled slightly and was bruised.
Employee was descending a catwalk on the plant. The ramp was wet due to rain. The employee slipped on the catwalk and twisted his ankle while trying to regain his footing. He was taken to the Uconn Medical Center for x-rays and treatment. It was determined that he has a sprained ankle and is to ice it and stay off it for a few days.
