EMP WAS HELPING SWITCH BARGES AND STEPPED FROM EMPTY BARGE TO LOADED BARGE AND FELT A PULL IN HIS BACK. EMP SAID THIS HAPPENED ON 7-11-96 BUT DID NOT REPORT UNTIL 7-19-96. DO NOT KNOW EXTENT O F BACK DAMAGE. POSSIBLE SURGERY REQUIRED. EXPECTING 4 WEEKS OF PHYSICAL THERAPY.
