THE ELKHORN ENGINEERS INTERED THE SECTION AND PROCEEDED TO SET SPADS IN THE NO. 1 HEADING WITHOUT TELLING THE FOREMAN, DRILLMAN, OR THE SHOT FIRE THAT THEY WERE ON THE SECTION. NO. 1 HEADING WAS TAMPED AND READY TO SHOOT. SHOT FIRE CAME OVER IN NO. 2 HEADING AND HOLLARD FIRE 4 TIMES THEN SHOT, ENGINEERS WERE 130 FEET BACK IN NO. 1 AND ONE MAN GOT HIT.
