Accident type, without injuries

A fire occurred on the 20520 D10 T Cat Dozer. The fire was extinguished after 35 minutes. No injuries occurred. MSHA was notified of the occurrence.

A contract mechanic received a laceration to the side of his head while attempting to run the boom on the service truck out. Mechanic toggled the boom swing button and he meant to press the boom extension button. Mechanic was taken to CAMC General ER where he received 4 sutures to close the wound. He returned to work on 12/10/2013.
