Accident type, without injuries

Began working in Cumberland Coal storage area (CCSA) Tue Apr 2. Smell indicated something going on but no fire determined. Previous week smoldering coal removed from ARJ storage side. Smoldering & red coals found in CCSA after access was made Apr 5. Crane used to move coal to center to use with kiln start Apr 6. Kiln didn't start. Open flame detected Apr 8 w/MSHA Inspector.

Loading holes, moving Gravel, back became stiff.

Miner using 6 ton come-along to pull gear box out chain on hoist broke and struck miner on right leg.

Employee stated that after driving pins for the bottom ash feeder with a sledge hammer on the 1/18/13 he developed soreness in the neck and shoulder on 1/19/13. Employee did not request his supervisor to file incident report until 1/22/2013 which was when the employee was evaluated and medically treated.

Employee was using a hammer drill to drill refractory. Drill caught and spun out of operators hand striking him in the cheek causing a small laceration. Employee received stitches. Laceration occurred at the end of shift, employee returned next day to work.
