Showing all 18Employee was jack legging in our Julain mine. A baseball size rock fell between the wire from the back and hit the employee's left forearm cutting it. Employee received 7 stitches and got a full release.
On 26 May at approximately 6:30 AM a miner was struck on the left side of EE's face while scaling. Pieces of the falling debris made it into EE's eye causing a scratch on the surface of the eye. The on-site medic, under medical direction, treated the scratch with prescription anti-biotics. The employee was wearing safety glasses at the time of the incident.
While scaling, miner's left thumb was struck by small rock causing a slight fracture injury to end of thumb.
While scaling, a rock fell from the back striking miner's right hand. Miner was evaluated at the medical station and placed on light duty.
EE was rock bolting the roof when a piece of rock fell and struck him on upper right arm. Rock size approx. 2" x 4".
