Electrician was changing the bearing on the #1 taipiece. When he went to grab the shaft a piece of metal went through his glove and stuck in his right index finger. When he removed it some was left in the wound. The metal was removed by the Dr. and (5) sutures were required. This is to report medical treatment only. No days were lost.
Employee was shoveling the #4 belt drive in a stooped position and when he stood up his back started hurting and left leg went numb.
Employee using right side handrail to pull up on truck, pulled muscle in right upper arm.
Employee was putting a feeder flight in the feeder when the flight struck his left ring finger. He suffered a fracture to this finger.

A piece of rock fell against the bolter head as employee was bolting. He was moving the piece of rock when his lower back popped. Employee finished his shift of work and started missing the following day (12-3-08).
EE was putting first aid box in scoop on power move and caught rough edge with right thumb.
Employee was pulling a jumper cable and injured his shoulder. It was dislocated and out of place. Dr repaired and he returned to work.
Employee was lifting motor off base plate, when motor slipped and caught EE's finger. Required stiches to close wound.
While removing lid employee caught fingers underneath lid and had minor surgery of finger that required stitches.
While removing lid from miner, lid slipped and caught fingers, breaking ring finger and cutting little finger.
An employee tossed a closed knife to the injured employee and the knife bounced off the locker and came open and struck employee in the hand causing a laceration that required stitches.
Employee said he was pushing the miner cable out of the way with his feet, as he was crawling back to the miner and hurt his back.
Employee got his little finger on his left hand mashed, when he was trying to get a broken bolt out of the bolter canopy. Canopy fell and caught finger, causing tip of finger to break and sutures.
While using his feet to push a tire, EE hurt his lower back. He began missing work 10/2/08 from an injury that occurred on 6/25/08 that was diagnosed as degenerative disc disease.
Mechanic was welding on a truck and when he finished he started rolling up the stinger lead and it become tangled with the ground clamp lead. He pulled on the stinger lead and the ground clamp came off the truck and struck his right hand fracturing his fourth (index) metacarpal. This is to report medical treatment only.
Employee was moving a top belt strucure when his hand slipped and his right index finger went between the roller and the hawkeye senson. This resulted in a laceration that required five sutures. This is to report medical treatment only.
Employee was laying on back under beltline lifting with legs. Lifted wrong.
During Tree cutting operation for a spoil fill area in advance of mining operation. An employee received multible non-fatal injuries when another employee felled a tree. Then the tree struck the injured employee who was working down slope of the felled tree.
Ee was assisting in removal of forks on a miner when he lost his grip and dooring his attempt to recover his hold a lock pin punctured his right palm. The wound was treated at the local emertency room and required stitches to close.
Employee was removing a welder ground clamp from a piece of metal by pulling on the cable. The cable caught on a piece of fence and the employee jerked on the cable. The cable came lose and the clamp flew up and struck his nose lacerating it. This required (5) sutures. This is to report medical treatment only.
Employee was pulling on the miner cable trying to get it out from under a rock when he felt a popping sound in his left shoulder. Diagnosed as a sprain to the left shoulder.
Employee was throwing broken glass globe into a dumpster when a sliver of glass cut his right middle finger. Cut required stitched to repair.
Employee twisted sideways to pick up a box of resin and felt a pain in the center of his back. Due to complications he started missing work on March 12 2008.
Employee was diagnoised with moderate disc hernation from an injury that occurred 1/23/2008.
Employee began missing work from an injury that occurred on 1/24/2008. He was rockdust and felt pain in lower back.
On 10-22-07 employee picked up a bag of rock dust and complained of pain in lower back, continued to work. On 10-24-07 he sustained injuries in a vehicle accident (off property) where he was rear ended but still contuined to work. On 12-3-07 he started missing work. After a medical review they determined that he is missing work due to the 10-23-07 accident.
Employee was removing a head motor guard on Miner when it slipped and cut finger on left hand requiring stitches.
While loading a Ram Car tire, it fell over onto his foot and ankle resulting in a fracture.
Employee was putting belts on a cyclone pump sheave wheel when he got the tip of his thumb on the right hand between the belt and the sheave causing a laceration that took sutures to close.
While bending a bolt it sprung and struck him in the mouth. The injury resulted in stitches.
Bending a bolt on T-Bar, when bolt slipped and struck left hand. Resulting in a hairline fracture to ring finger of left hand. No splint required.
Employee was bending a bolt and he had his body (back) out of position and the end result was a pulled back.
Employee was changing out a sieve box and as he was pulling on it he felt pain in his lower back. Due to complication this employee started missing work on August 13, 2007.
While making repairs to the #4 bridge; employee struck the back of his right hand on a piece of loose metal causing a laceration. This is to report medical treatment only.
Mine sealant splashed in his right eye. Employee suffered a chemical burn to right eye that required medical attention that qualifies as a reportable injury.
Employee picked up a bridge cable on 6/4/07 and reported pain in his groin, and continued to work. On 9/7/07 his doctor reported that he needed surgery for a rupture. He started missing work on 9/10/07. We are reporting this but don't feel that it is a related incident.
The employee was adjusting the belt hanger chain while the belt was being leveled. He thought the chain link was in the hanger and as the persons assisting him let the belt down his right hand was pulled into the hanger lacerating it. Twelve sutures were required. No Days were Lost.
The electrician was standing in a high place on the 1st left section 1 break inby spad 10608. When he turned to pick up a cm remote box he struck the left side of his head against a roof bolt plate along the brow. This caused a laceration to his left ear requiring (7) sutures. Employee was moving a rockduster from a scoop bucket and felt pain in his groin and lower back.
Employee was cleaning out dust box and cut his hand on the coal rib, requiring stitches to close the wound.
Employee was plastering a brattice when plaster was splashed onto his face and glasses. When he wiped off his face he wiped some materials into his eye and had to have the eye washed out. This is a medical reportable injury.
Employee slid a piece of rock off the 6 inch waterline. The rock scraped his right hand and middle finger. His finger nail was scrapped off and stitches were required to close the wound. (Employee began missing work on 11/14/06 because of infection)
Employee was attempting to move a piece of grating by dragging it and strained a muscle in low back.
The electrician and outside utility man were carrying cribs in preparation to work on a scoop in the supply yard. The utility man let a crib slip off his shoulder and it struck the electrician on his left hand. This resulting in fractures to his left distal middle and index finger. This is to report medical treatment only.
Employee informed company on 12/12/2006 that he had surgery on a knee that was injured on 10/18/2006. The original incident was recorded when he raised up from handling a miner cable and felt pain in his right knee.
Removed fuel cap-sustained burns to face and hands.
