Showing all 6Employee was loading stone into cutter with another emploee and got his right middle finger wedged. The employee noticed a laceration from where it was wedged. He then stopped working and came to the office, told his supervisor and was sent to Concentra.
Employee was using a shovel to spread stone dust on a section of the driveway for traction after a light snow and icing.
Miner was on outlet table side of stone cutter when cut was initiated; outlet table moves in downward position. Miner placed hand prematurely to remove stone and when table was retracted middlefinger was pinched between top of stone and chisels.
