Employee was replacing the head jack on a continuous miner. While lining up the new jack, the chain hoist slipped, pinning the employee's hand between the jack and the frame of the machine. This resulted in a jagged cut to the employee's right second finger which required two sutures to close.

This accident occurred on the surface. The injured employee was on a mantrip and had his left hand on the back of the seat, when another employee moved a metal mandoor loaded onto the mantrip, which resulted in lacerations to the injured employee's index and middle fingers on his left hand.
