Employee was attempting to unplug an inlet using a bar. The bar slipped causing EE's hand to strike the edge of the inlet opening. The impact caused a cut on EE's left hand middle finger through EE's work gloves. Employee was taken to ER for stitches and returned to work at full duty.

Showing all 3Employee was working in shop at the mine removing the worn teeth off a bucket on a CAT 335E excavator. The pins and wedges were removed and EE was hitting the tooth with a steel hammer to loosen the debris packed between the tooth mount and the tooth itself. A shard of metal from the tooth came off striking EE in the chin below the lip causing a laceration requiring two stitches.
Employee was shoveling sand under a waste belt and caught employee's right pinky finger between the shovel handle and an angle iron (angled metal support) on the belt.
