Employee was cutting belt in order to make a splice in the belt. He was using a utility knife to cut the belt and he was positioned next to the rib and movement was limited. As he pulled the knife and it cut thru the belt he struck his left thigh with the blade causing a laceration to his leg that required 4 stitches to close properly.

Showing all 8The employee was making a cable splice and started to crimp the burndy clamp. He was using a splice knocker to crimp the sleeves. When he struck the knocker, a piece of metal chipped off and went into his hand. The employee thought that he removed the metal but went to the doctor on 1-13-14 and underwent surgery to have it removed.
The injured was cutting open a rock dust bag when the razor knife slipped causing him to cut his forearm.
