An employee used a knife to open a tuna can during a break. While cutting into the can, the knife slipped off the metal edge and cut across their right thumb, causing a two-inch laceration through their cut-resistant glove. The injury occurred because the employee used an improper tool for the task.

Employee of Overley's, MSHA Contractor ID L576, was cleaning out a sump with a shovel when right leg contacted a piece of corroded rebar causing a laceration which required stitches. Employee returned to full duty after ER visit.
