Showing all 3Miner was pounding on a pin from the track of a backhoe with a hammer when a steel shard from the pin broke off and embedded itself in right shin.
Miner was using a Tamrock drill rig and was attempting to remove the drill bit by hitting it with a hammer. Another hammer was propped against the drill bit to secure the bit. When EE struck the bit with one hammer, the other hammer slid down pushing EE's finger across the broken drill bit which lacerated the finger.
