#8 Belt tore apart. EE and others were repairing the belt. While cutting the belt to make a splice, the knife slipped out of EE's hand and cut his right lower thigh. The foreman, EMT, administered first aid, and EE went to ER to have it checked. He got 3 stitches, but the doctor said next time he did not have to come in for a cut like this.
In the #4 entry one block outby, face EE was assisting electricans with a cable splice. The razor knife slipped and cut him on the left knee.
EE WAS MAKING UP BELT SADDLES WITH SPLICES ON BOTH ENDS. HE WAS USING A HAMMER TO SRIKE THE SPLICING TOOL, WHEN HE STRUCK THE SPLICING TOOL WITHA HAMMER A PIECE OF STEEL CAME OFF THE HAMMER HE AD AND ENTERED HIS ARM 2" ABOVE THE WRIST. THE PIECE OF STEEL WAS VERY SMALL.
EE WAS SAWING A WOODEN POST. THE SAW CAUGHT HIS LIGHT CORD AND CAUSED THE BLADE TO JUMP OUT AND CUT HIS FINGER. THE CUT REQUIRED STITCHES.
