INJURED WAS HELPING REMOVE COAL FROM A STALLED CONVEYOR BELT. INJURED WAS UISNG A 4"X8" CAPWEDGE TO SCRAPE THE COAL FROM THE CONVEYOR BELT AND AS HE PULLED THE COAL OFF THE BELT HE FELT MUCH P AIN IN HIS RIGHT HAND. HE CONTINUED TO WORK HIS REGULAR SHIFTS AND DID NOT GO TO A DR TO HAVE HIS HAND CHECKED UNTIL 4-12-97. INJURED STARTED MISSING WORK ON 4-14-97 DUE TO THE INJURY.
